Time: Class runs 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM on all days except the last, when it ends at 3:00 so students can make their flight connections.
Prerequisites: Basic familiarity with the .NET Framework and Visual Studio 2008. Class is taught in C#, but Visual Basic users are welcome.
Language of Instruction: US English.
Cost: The exchange rate is highly favorable to US and European attendees. The class costs Is Kr 105,000, which is approximately US$ 840 or € 584. You can pay via Visa or Mastercard at the University on the first day of class.
Bring Your Own Laptop: Feedback from previous classes has indicated that students prefer to work in their own development environments, containing their favorite tools and customized to their own tastes. Therefore, students in this class must provide their own PCs containing the following software: Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (C# or VB languages). If you forget any of those, don't worry, we have them here on disk, but you'll be happiest if you come in ready to rock and roll. Power outlets, wireless Internet, and sample code will be provided.
If You're From the US or Europe: Iceland is easy to get to. Icelandair offers non-stop flights from Boston, JFK, Minneapolis, Orlando and Seattle in the US, and from many cities in Europe. If you've never been here, it's an excellent place; very clean and efficient, with superb seafood and hot spas. Come early and enjoy a weekend here. I always do.
Lodging: The University of Iceland is right next door to the Hotel Saga , which is clean and comfortable but a little bit boring because it's 1 km from downtown. I'll be staying at the Luna Guest House downtown, a 15-minute walk or short cab drive away.
